ITMAX Unit Appointed As Smart Parking Operator In Mersing, Effective May 1

KUALA LUMPUR, March 20 (Bernama) -- ITMAX System Bhd’s subsidiary Southmax Sdn Bhd has been appointed by Mersing District Council as the smart parking operator for outdoor parking spaces in the Mersing area.

In a statement today, ITMAX said the appointment will be effective from May 1, 2025, and will run for a period of 15 years. 

“Under the revenue-sharing model, Southmax will receive 70 per cent of the revenue generated from parking collections and compounds collected through its Parkmax@Johor application,” it said.

ITMAX managing director and chief executive officer William Tan Wei Lun said the appointment marks its seventh smart parking contract in the state, reinforcing ITMAX’s commitment to expanding intelligent urban mobility solutions across the region

“With our artificial intelligence-powered technology, we are confident that our smart parking solutions will streamline revenue collection, enhance operational efficiency, and improve collection rates for city councils. 

“By integrating parking management into a broader smart city ecosystem, we aim to create seamless, data-driven urban environments that improve convenience for residents and businesses alike,” he said.
