AI Adoption Gaining Momentum Among Local Agencies, Companies -- NEC Malaysia
KUALA LUMPUR, April 17 (Bernama) -- Local agencies and companies are starting to adopt artificial intelligence (AI) as part of their digital transformation journey, according to NEC Corporation of Malaysia Sdn Bhd (NEC Malaysia).
Managing director Wataru Irie said the company is currently providing technology solutions to clients from various sectors, including the government, telecommunications and retail companies.
“We also work with them to modernise the infrastructure, as some systems are quite outdated.
“But this takes time, as it requires safe and stable migration from the existing systems to new ones,” he said at a press conference after a media tour of the company’s Customer Experience Centre today.
NEC Malaysia general manager of business units, Chan Chern Pong, acknowledged that helping companies adopt new technologies can be challenging, as each enterprise has unique requirements.
However, he said NEC’s long-standing presence in the ASEAN region—spanning over 60 years—along with access to a global pool of experts, including those based in Malaysia, gives the company a distinct advantage in addressing these challenges.
"We can leverage resources within the region or globally, tapping into their knowledge on how they have integrated similar platforms in their projects,” he said.
Chan added that NEC has built a valuable database, allowing the company to offer strong technical and commercial proposals to its clients.
NEC Malaysia, a subsidiary of NEC Corporation, is a globally recognised leader in digital transformation with 125 years of technological innovations under its belt.
The company also specialises in smart connectivity, public safety, managed services, retail and manufacturing applications, infrastructure, internet protocol (IP) networks, cybersecurity, and multimedia platforms.
