KUCHING, May 11 (Bernama) -- The Sarawak Sustainability Blueprint, a comprehensive framework outlining strategic priorities to guide the state towards a low-carbon future, will be one of the highlights at the May 29-30 Asia Carbon Conference (ACC 2025) at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK).

Sarawak Premier Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg will officiate the conference and launch the blueprint, ACC 2025 congress organiser Place Borneo Sdn Bhd said in a statement.

"ACC 2025 is set to gather over 400 experts, policymakers, business leaders, and innovators under the theme ‘Creating an Integrated ASEAN Marketplace for Carbon’, it said.

Among the anticipated sessions is a deep-dive panel titled "How are businesses tackling emission increases? Will there be new buyers of carbon credits in Asia?" which explores how privately owned businesses respond to global sustainability regulations, the relative ease of carbon credit procurement for private firms, and comparisons between public and private carbon credit pricing.

The conference features a distinguished lineup of speakers, including Norihiro Kimura, a senior negotiator for climate change at the Japan Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry; Win Sim Tan, regional representative – APAC at Verra; Redex chief executive officer Jen Wee Kang; and Ariana Cohen, senior consultant at JET.
