ITMAX Bags RM42 Mln DBKL Smart Traffic Light Contract

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 23 (Bernama) -- ITMAX System Bhd has accepted a letter of acceptance from Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) to provide operations and maintenance services for a smart traffic light system, under a RM42 million contract.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the artificial intelligence-powered digital infrastructure solutions provider said the contract spans three years, with the start date to be determined upon DBKL’s issuance of a work order.

The site possession date and completion timeline will be notified by DBKL in due course, it said.

ITMAX added that no work or services may commence until it fulfils the conditions precedent under the letter of acceptance, including the provision of a RM700,000 performance bond and the submission of relevant insurance cover notes and payment receipts.

Meanwhile, in a separate statement, ITMAX System Bhd managing director and chief executive officer William Tan Wei Lun said the award reflects DBKL’s confidence in the group’s proprietary smart traffic controller system, developed by its in-house research and development team.

“Our smart traffic system integrates closed-circuit television (CCTV) infrastructure with AI-driven analytics to enable real-time traffic monitoring, adaptive signal control and data-driven decision-making, delivering tangible improvements in traffic flow and road safety.
