Gold Futures End Higher

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 19 (Bernama) -- Gold futures on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives ended higher in line with gains on the US COMEX market.

The spot-month January 2026 contract increased to US$4,672.60 per troy ounce from US$4,609.20 per troy ounce last Friday, February 2026 gained to US$4,689.0 per troy ounce from US$4,625.60 per troy ounce and March 2026 was firmer at US$4,706.0 per troy ounce from US$4,642.60 per troy ounce.

The April, June and August 2026 contracts were also higher, settling at US$4,724.20 per troy ounce compared with US$4,661.70 per troy ounce previously.

Trading volume declined to 64 lots from 126 lots last Friday, while open interest narrowed to 141 contracts from 192 contracts previously.

Physical gold was fixed at US$4,611.05 per troy ounce at the London Bullion Market Association afternoon fix on Jan 16, 2026.
