Abaxx Exchange Registers With ACER To Meet EU REMIT Requirements

KUALA LUMPUR, April 14 (Bernama) -- Abaxx Technologies Inc (Abaxx) announced that its subsidiary, Abaxx Exchange, has registered as an Organised Market Place (OMP) with the European Union Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER) as of April 8.

The registration enables Abaxx Exchange to comply with reporting obligations under the European Union’s Regulation on Wholesale Energy Market Integrity and Transparency (EU REMIT), which governs transparency and integrity in wholesale energy markets, according to a statement.

Under the updated EU REMIT II framework, OMP registration and standardised reporting requirements are mandatory for trading venues operating in European energy markets. The registration positions its exchange to meet upcoming 2026 compliance requirements.

The move will also allow European market participants to access Abaxx Exchange’s physically deliverable liquefied natural gas (LNG) futures contract linked to regional import flows within a compliant regulatory framework. The compliance structure is expected to extend to future products, including derivatives related to electricity, hydrogen and natural gas.

Abaxx Exchange has engaged Equias B.V., a registered reporting mechanism for REMIT compliance, to provide reporting services to its market participants.

Abaxx Technologies is a financial software and market infrastructure company focused on building “smarter markets” through advanced technology and innovative benchmarks.
