KMI Healthcare To Expand Operations In Tawau With RM72 Mln specialist Hospital Block

KUALA LUMPUR, April 14 (Bernama) -- TDM Bhd’s healthcare arm Kumpulan Medic Iman Sdn Bhd (KMI Healthcare) plans to operate a new specialist hospital block at KMI Tawau Medical Centre in Sabah with an estimated gross development cost of RM72 million.

In a statement today, KMI Healthcare said the project follows the execution of an agreement between its subsidiary KMI Tawau Medical Centre Sdn Bhd (KMITMC) and Tawau Healthcare Sdn Bhd (THSB), which will build and sub-lease the new facility.

KMI Healthcare said construction is expected to be completed within 24 months upon fulfilment of key conditions, with the enhanced facility targeted to begin operations by the second quarter of 2028.

“With a total planned capacity of 59 beds, the expanded medical centre will offer improved access to specialist care, supported by modern infrastructure, upgraded facilities and advanced medical systems,” it said.

Chief executive officer Dr Rayney Azmi Ali said the expansion reflects the group’s commitment to delivering quality, accessible and patient-centred healthcare to communities in Sabah.

“KMITMC has been serving the region, and this next phase of growth allows us to elevate our services and meet increasing demand,” he said.
