EC-Council Launches AI Governance Framework, Readiness Assessment Tool

KUALA LUMPUR, May 29 (Bernama) -- EC-Council has launched its Adopt. Defend. Govern. (ADG) artificial intelligence (AI) framework and a free AI Readiness Self-Assessment Tool aimed at helping organisations manage AI governance, security and compliance.

The cybersecurity certification and training organisation said the framework was developed with input from industry practitioners and advisory board members from companies including Citi, JPMorgan Chase, Microsoft, KPMG, Deloitte, NTT Data and Salesforce.

EC-Council Group President, Jay Bavisi said many organisations had prioritised rapid AI deployment while governance and security frameworks struggled to keep pace, increasing the risk of operational and compliance failures.

“The ADG Framework was developed to restore operational discipline, establish accountability, and help organisations operationalise AI responsibly before governance failures become systemic business liabilities,” added Bavisi.

According to EC-Council in a statement, the ADG framework is structured around three operational pillars, 12 minimum controls and nine governance surfaces designed to align with the European Union AI Act, ISO/IEC 42001 and the National Institute of Standards and Technology AI Risk Management Framework.

EC-Council said the framework is intended to help organisations address risks associated with AI deployment, including model exploitation, prompt injection, adversarial attacks and governance accountability across large language models and agentic AI environments.

The company also introduced a free AI Readiness Self-Assessment Tool designed to help organisations evaluate governance maturity, operational resilience and AI risk exposure.

EC-Council also introduced three new AI-related certifications aligned with the ADG operating model, covering AI programme management, offensive AI security, and responsible AI governance and ethics.
