11 Developers Registered With CRESS As Of May 2026

KUALA LUMPUR, June 25 (Bernama) -- A total of 11 developers have registered under the Corporate Renewable Energy Supply Scheme (CRESS) as of May 2026.

The number includes eight green consumers from the data centre, high-technology and manufacturing sectors, involving a combined renewable energy (RE) capacity of about three gigawatts, said Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy Transition and Water Transformation Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof.

“Their participation reflects positive interest from industry players in the direct green electricity supply mechanism, particularly to meet the needs of large-scale corporate consumers,” he said during the Minister's Question Time in the Dewan Rakyat today.

Fadillah said this in response to a supplementary question from Rodziah Ismail (PH-Ampang) on CRESS’s status of implementation and the number of participants in the scheme.

He said CRESS was launched on July 26, 2024, as a mechanism that enables corporate consumers to procure green electricity directly from RE developers through access to the national grid network.

He said the implementation of CRESS also supports the country's aspiration to accelerate RE development in line with the target of achieving 70 per cent RE share of installed capacity by 2050 under the National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR).
