"The first delivery, comprising 15 aircraft, is scheduled for phased delivery in the first and second quarters of 2027 to support Consortium Wholechoice's flight training school and aircraft leasing operations across Asia," he told reporters after the Aeronas press conference and document exchange ceremony here today.

Under the agreement, Aeronas has also appointed Wholechoice as the first regional distributor for Aeronas aircraft, paving the way for the Malaysian manufacturer to expand its presence into other Asia-Pacific markets.

Meanwhile, Aeronas vice-president of business development and finance, Suhaimi Halim said the company is currently engaged in discussions with several parties from Singapore, Hong Kong and China, aiming to secure more firm orders, mainly from aircraft traders and investment banks.

“They will introduce their own aircraft leasing programme, offering it to their clients, most of whom are airlines and aircraft operators based outside Malaysia," he said, adding that 90 per cent of the company's order book comes from overseas.

He also said Aeronas aims to expand its domestic operations by establishing a full-scale manufacturing plant with an annual production capacity of up to 180 aircraft.

He added that the company has received several land offers from states, including Sabah, Selangor, Kedah and Pahang, to facilitate the development of the manufacturing facility.
