Reservoir Link Secures Five-Year Appointment As Petronas Panel Contractor

KUALA LUMPUR, July 2 (Bernama) -- Reservoir Link Energy Bhd's 60 per cent-owned subsidiary, Reservoir Link Solutions Sdn Bhd (RLS), has secured a five-year appointment from Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas) as a panel contractor.

The appointment, effective from May 14, 2026, is for the Provision of Integrated Discovered Resource Assessment for Petronas under Package 2 – Carbon Capture Utilisation and Storage (CCUS) and Contaminant.

In a statement today, the company said the appointment will further strengthen Reservoir Link's growing involvement in subsurface technical services and energy transition-related initiatives within the oil and gas industry.

"Under the appointment, RLS will participate in mini-bidding and direct award exercises for projects involving integrated discovered resource assessment studies. 

"The scope of work includes data consolidation and management, geological and geophysical evaluation, subsurface and surface development planning, economic analysis, as well as the preparation and submission of technical assessment reports," it said.

Reservoir Link executive deputy chairman Thien Chiet Chai said securing this five-year panel appointment from Petronas reflects the group’s technical capabilities and growing expertise in CCUS-related services.

"This appointment further strengthens our position as a key player in Malaysia’s energy transition initiatives. We remain committed to delivering high-quality integrated resource assessment services that support Petronas’ CCUS ambitions while creating sustainable long-term value for our stakeholders," said Thien.

He added that the latest appointment further diversifies the group’s service offerings beyond traditional oil and gas activities into sustainable energy solutions, complementing its existing portfolio in well services, renewables and other low-carbon initiatives.
