Anaqua Renews IP Management Partnership With Sony

KUALA LUMPUR, July 8 (Bernama) -- Anaqua has renewed its partnership with Sony Group Corporation (Sony) to continue providing intellectual property (IP) management technology and services, supporting the Japanese company's efforts to strengthen IP as a driver of business strategy, innovation and global growth.

Under the renewed agreement, Anaqua will continue supporting Sony's global IP management across patents, designs, trademarks and related rights, according to a statement.

The partnership, which began in 2018, reflects Sony's growing use of IP intelligence across its diverse business operations.

Anaqua chief executive officer, Justin Crotty said the partnership reflects Sony's long-standing focus on using IP to support business growth.

Meanwhile, Sony Group head of IP and Technology Standardization, Asashi Shimodaira said: “The pace of innovation is accelerating like never before. Efficiency is crucial, and that is one of the key reasons why we chose Anaqua.”

He added that the company's artificial intelligence (AI)-powered capabilities are expected to improve processes and allow more time for strategic decision-making.

Anaqua will continue to provide its AQX platform, AcclaimIP analytics solution, and patent, design annuity and trademark renewal services. The agreement also includes Sony's evaluation and adoption of Anaqua's AI-powered capabilities to enhance strategic planning, innovation management and brand governance.

Anaqua said the renewed collaboration will support Sony's transition from a traditional IP protection model to a portfolio-driven, data-centric approach that strengthens decision-making across business units, accelerates innovation and supports emerging technologies.
