Project B Appoints Landry Fields As Head Of Men's Basketball
KUALA LUMPUR, July 10 (Bernama) -- Project B, the high-stakes global basketball competition, has appointed Landry Fields as Head of Men's Basketball to help expand its global basketball platform ahead of its inaugural season in January 2027.
The company said Fields will work alongside Chief Basketball Officer Alana Beard to identify leading players and emerging global talent as part of Project B's athlete-centred basketball development strategy.
Project B co-founder and chief operating officer, Grady Burnett said Fields' experience as both a player and executive would support the organisation's vision of building an athlete-led global basketball platform.
Meanwhile, Fields said he was drawn to Project B's ambition to invest in the future of basketball by working closely with players to help shape the sport's development.
“Project B has brought together some of the world's top athletes. I am excited to work closely with players to shape where the game goes next,” he said in a statement.
Fields joins Project B after serving as general manager of the Atlanta Hawks. He previously played five seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA) with the New York Knicks and Toronto Raptors before moving into basketball management with the San Antonio Spurs organisation.
Project B's inaugural season is scheduled to begin in January 2027 across cities in Asia and Europe.
