Vitrox Share Price Surges After Strong 2Q Earnings

KUALA LUMPUR, July 31 (Bernama) -- ViTrox Corporation Bhd's share price climbed on Friday after the company reported a sharp increase in net profit for the second quarter ended June 30, 2026 (2Q FY2026), to RM85.04 million from RM28.13 million a year earlier.

At 10.20 am, the factory equipment supplier's shares rose 77 sen to RM8.77, with 6.03 million shares traded.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia yesterday, the company attributed the stronger performance to manufacturing scale efficiencies and a highly favourable product mix.

Revenue more than doubled to RM374.92 million from RM183.04 million in the corresponding quarter last year, driven by robust demand for artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure.

Hong Leong Investment Bank Bhd (HLIB) expects the momentum to continue into the second half of 2026, supported by a broadening capital expenditure cycle among global electronics manufacturing services customers, particularly Western players.

"We see room for further upside should ViTrox continue to expand capacity ahead of schedule and gain market share in this tight supply environment, as demonstrated this quarter, with 40 per cent quarter-on-quarter growth compared with 21 per cent for its Taiwanese peer, Test Research Inc," it said in a note today.

HLIB also maintained a positive outlook on ViTrox, citing sustained order book momentum and clearer signs of pricing power amid tight supply conditions in the semiconductor equipment market.

The research house upgraded its call on the stock to "buy" from "hold" and raised its target price to RM9.85 from RM8.00.
