Gold Futures End Slightly Lower
KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 4 (Bernama) -- Gold futures on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives ended slightly lower today due to profit-taking, despite gains on the US Commodity Exchange (COMEX).
At the close, the new spot-month August 2026 contract edged down to US$4,065.80 per troy ounce from US$4,067.70 per troy ounce on Monday, and the September 2026 note eased to US$4,077.40 per troy ounce from US$4,079.80 previously.
The October 2026, November 2026 and December 2026 contracts were all lower at US$4,090.30 per troy ounce compared with US$4,092.80 yesterday.
The trading volume rose to 145 lots from 116 lots on Monday, while open interest added to 213 contracts from 181 contracts previously.
Physical gold was fixed at US$4,028.15 per troy ounce at the London Bullion Market Association’s afternoon fix on Aug 3, 2026.
