Multiplier Secures US$35 Mln Series B, Appoints Allen Shim As President And CFO

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 5 (Bernama) -- Multiplier, a technology company that acquires premium professional services firms, has announced a US$35 million Series B round led by The General Partnership, with participation from Ribbit Capital and Lightspeed Venture Partners. (US$1=RM4.09)

The company also announced the appointment of Allen Shim, former Slack Chief Financial Officer (CFO), as President and CFO. Shim will oversee finance, operations, partnerships and people functions, and support the expansion of Multiplier’s San Francisco office.

In a statement, Multiplier said the new funding will be used to acquire additional professional-services firms and expand its technology and operating teams. Currently, it has acquired eight firms, including five in the past year, and has four additional firms under signed term sheets.

Multiplier acquires established professional-services firms with specialised expertise and long-standing client relationships. The acquired firms retain their names, leadership teams and operating independence, while gaining access to long-term capital, shared infrastructure and a global professional network.

The company’s team of more than 30 technologists, recruited from leading software companies, works directly within the firms to develop artificial intelligence (AI) tools tailored to their daily operations and workflows.

Multiplier said it is structured to support founders who wish to continue leading their businesses while benefiting from capital, technology, recruitment capabilities, operational support and a broader network of expertise.

Unlike companies that sell software to external firms, Multiplier works directly with professionals inside its network firms to identify opportunities where AI can reduce manual work, increase capacity and improve client service.

With its network serving clients across more than 10 countries, Multiplier said its objective is to help professionals serve a larger number of clients while maintaining the quality and trust associated with expert advisory services.
