Pharmaniaga Shares Up 1.70 Pct After 2Q Profit Surge

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 14 (Bernama) -- Pharmaniaga Bhd’s share price rose 1.70 per cent in early trading on Friday after the company reported a second quarter 2026 (2Q 2026) surge in net profit yesterday.

At 10.27 am, its shares gained two sen to RM1.19 with 2.97 million shares traded.

The healthcare company posted a higher net profit of RM12.49 million for the quarter versus RM3.96 million a year ago, driven by RM7 million in realised interest savings following a partial repayment of borrowings, supported by effective inventory management.

Revenue also increased to RM1.04 billion for 2Q 2026 from RM926.86 million in the corresponding quarter in 2025, boosted by higher order volumes from government hospitals under the approved products purchase list and increased sales from the private segment.

In a note, MBSB Investment Bank Bhd said Pharmaniaga is expected to continue focusing on its operational excellence and the commercialisation of its biopharmaceutical segment, including the RM281.7 million human insulin contract.

The group has also completed the PCV-13 vaccine validation process and achieved good manufacturing practice compliance for localised production. It also launched the Zemi product range to diversify its pharmaceutical revenue, the research house said.

“It has scheduled four automated, cost-saving warehouses for 2027, which we expect will boost the group’s supply chain resilience.

“Hence, we make no changes to our earnings forecast for now. We maintain our “Buy” call with an unchanged target price of RM1.44,” it said.
