KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 19 (Bernama) -- Malaysia has clinched the Best Meetings Destination (Asia) 2026 award at the M&C Asia Stella Awards 2026, further strengthening the country’s position as a preferred destination for international meetings and business events in Asia.
The prestigious recognition, received by the Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB), was presented at the official awards ceremony held recently, which brought together key industry leaders, partners and hospitality professionals from across the region.
In a statement today, MyCEB said the award underscores the country’s strong international connectivity, quality infrastructure, renowned hospitality and proven ability to host high-quality business events.
It said the award reflects MyCEB’s continued efforts to strengthen the country’s profile and competitiveness in the international business events market.
Chief executive officer Tan Mei Phing said the achievement reflects the collective efforts of MyCEB, industry partners and stakeholders in strengthening Malaysia’s position as a leading business events destination.
“This recognition also reinforces our confidence in Malaysia’s capabilities, hospitality and destination appeal.
“It motivates us to continue delivering meaningful and memorable experiences for meeting planners, delegates and industry partners from around the world,” she said.
MyCEB said it will continue to strengthen the country’s business events sector through destination marketing, industry collaboration and initiatives to enhance the quality and impact of events hosted in the country.
Malaysia's strategic location in Asia, established infrastructure, international connectivity and diverse hospitality offerings provide it with a strong platform for international meetings, conventions, incentive programmes and other business events, the statement said.
“Beyond hosting successful events, MyCEB aims to ensure that business events in Malaysia create positive economic and social impact.
“Through strong partnerships, creativity, innovation and Malaysia’s distinctive hospitality, MyCEB will strive to deliver quality experiences for the global business events community,” it added.
The M&C Asia Stella Awards 2026 event features 28 awards across six categories, recognising outstanding meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions destinations, convention centres, destination partners, meeting hotels, integrated resorts and sustainability efforts across Asia, it said.
