Utilities, Transportation, Healthcare Draw RM230.2 Mln Net Inflows - MBSB IB

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 24 (Bernama) -- Utilities, transportation and logistics, and healthcare attracted combined net foreign inflows of RM230.2 million into Bursa Malaysia last week, according to MBSB Investment Bank Bhd (MBSB IB).

It said the three sectors with the highest net foreign inflows were utilities at RM141.8 million, transportation and logistics at RM56.6 million, and healthcare at RM31.8 million.

Meanwhile, financial services, technology, and consumer products and services recorded combined net foreign outflows of RM682.7 million, MBSB IB said in its weekly Fund Flow Report for the week ended Aug 21, 2026.

“Foreign institutions extended their net selling streak on Bursa Malaysia to three consecutive weeks, recording net outflows of RM549.1 million. They were net sellers on all five trading days during the week.

“The highest outflow was recorded on Monday at RM190.5 million, followed by Tuesday (RM188.3 million), Wednesday (RM124.7 million), Thursday (RM34.9 million) and Friday (RM10.8 million),” it said.

MBSB IB said local institutions extended their net buying streak to four consecutive weeks, recording net inflows of RM591.1 million, while retailers reverted to net selling after a week of net buying, recording net outflows of RM42.0 million.

It said average daily trading volume (ADTV) rose across all investor groups, with retailers up 13.3 per cent, local institutions 13.2 per cent and foreign institutions 3.2 per cent.
