Sunway 2Q Net Profit Rises To RM318.59 Mln On Stronger Operations

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 27 (Bernama) -- Sunway Bhd’s net profit for the second quarter of 2026 (2Q 2026) ended June 30, 2026 rose to RM318.59 million from RM272.95 million in the same quarter last year mainly due to stronger operating performance across most of the business segments except for construction, trading and manufacturing segments.

Its revenue increased to RM2.91 billion from RM2.56 billion in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year mainly driven by higher contributions from most business segments except for the construction segment.

For the first half of 2026, with the financial year ending Dec 31, 2026 (1H FY2026), the company’s net profit soared to RM9.73 billion from RM463.51 million in the preceding year, attributed to stronger operating performance across all business segments.

Sunway is a major Malaysian conglomerate operating across 13 primary business divisions, focusing heavily on real estate development, construction, education, healthcare, retail, hospitality and leisure using an integrated "build-own-operate" business model.

The group's diversified and integrated business portfolio remains well positioned to benefit from Malaysia’s continued economic expansion, supported by sustained consumer demand, healthy investment activity and favourable structural growth drivers.

The board remains cautiously optimistic about the group’s prospects for FY2026, given its diversified business model, robust unbilled sales, continued expansion of healthcare bed capacity, record-high outstanding construction order book and resilient recurring-income businesses.

It has also declared a single-tiered dividend of 3 sen per share payable on Oct 15, 2026.
