Berjaya Corp Reduces Net Loss To RM340.36 Mln In FY2026

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 28 (Bernama) -- Berjaya Corporation Bhd (BCorp) reduced its net loss to -RM340.36 million for the financial year ended June 30, 2026 (FY2026) from -RM541.97 million in FY2025.

Revenue for the year decreased to RM8.99 billion from RM9.38 billion previously, mainly due to lower contributions from the non-food retail business, services and hospitality segments.

“The decline in revenue reported by the non-food retail business was primarily due to lower contribution from car dealership, H.R. Owen, arising from reduced sales volumes in both the new and used car segments.

“The hospitality segment reported lower revenue, mainly due to lower overall average room rates during the year under review,” it said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia today.

For the fourth quarter (4Q) of FY2026, the group’s net loss dropped to RM109.02 million from RM207.20 million in 4Q FY 2025, while revenue inched down to RM2.28 billion from RM2.37 billion previously, mainly attributable to lower contributions from the non-food retail business, services and hospitality segments.

On prospects, the group is looking forward to the completion and opening of the luxurious Four Seasons Resort & Private Residences Okinawa project in Japan in 4Q FY2027.

It said the project, which features 279 exquisite accommodations -- including 127 resort rooms, 124 high-end condominiums, and 28 exclusive private villas -- will strengthen the performance of the hotels and resorts business segment.

“Barring any unforeseen circumstances, the directors are cautiously optimistic that the performance of the business operations of the group for the financial year ending June 30, 2027 will be satisfactory,” it added.
