KLCI Futures Likely To Trade Higher Next Week

By Engku Shariful Azni Engku Ab Latif

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 29 (Bernama) -- The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures are likely to trade higher next week, in line with the cash market, said an analyst.

IPPFA Sdn Bhd director of investment strategy and country economist Mohd Sedek Jantan said the key index is expected to trade in relatively light volume next week, with a shorter trading week due to the public holiday on Monday.

“The strong performance of US technology stocks could prompt some investors to shift their focus towards global markets, potentially resulting in subdued trading activity.

“Investors will also take note of Federal Reserve (Fed) chair Kevin Warsh’s speech at the Jackson Hole symposium for clues on the Fed’s monetary policy outlook, particularly regarding inflation, interest rates and US Treasury yields,” he said.

Bursa Malaysia was closed on Aug 25, 2026, in conjunction with Prophet Muhammad’s birthday.
