Haier Malaysia Launches Horizon Multi-Door Collection To Tackle Food Waste
KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 3 (Bernama) -- Haier Malaysia today unveiled its new Horizon Multi-Door Collection, featuring smart food preservation technologies aimed at helping Malaysian households keep groceries fresh for longer and reduce food waste.
Haier Electrical Appliances (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd said in a statement that the new refrigerator collection, unveiled under the theme “Beyond What You See”, focused on food freshness, storage capacity and convenience, reflecting the changing needs of Malaysian households.
Meanwhile, Haier Malaysia chief operating officer Patrick Seow said households were changing the way they shopped and managed food, with many now stocking up for one to two weeks at a time and paying closer attention to reducing food waste.
“This is shaping what they expect from their appliances, especially around storage, organisation, freshness and design to stand out in the kitchen and it’s why we’re introducing the Horizon Collection now,” he said in a statement today.
The Horizon Collection features Nutribank preservation technology, which can keep meat fresh for up to 10 days while preserving more than 95 per cent of its protein content.
Its Active Fresh Zone maintains a consistent humidity level of 90 per cent while minimising condensation, helping fruits and vegetables stay fresh for up to seven days with more than 98 per cent Vitamin C retention.
The collection also comes with ABT Pro technology, which Haier said could remove up to 99.9 per cent of bacteria and unwanted odours, helping ingredients remain fresh, clean and safe for consumption.
Beyond food preservation, the collection offers more than 820 litres of storage capacity, equivalent to up to 38 grocery bags or seven large shopping carts, providing greater flexibility for bulk shopping and meal planning.
It also features a 35-litre freezer capacity, adjustable cantilever shelves and a Day Light panel to provide greater visibility and organisation of stored groceries.
Selected models come with Smart Window and Welcome Light features, while the Auto Water Dispenser and Dual Ice Maker provide chilled water and two ice sizes.
Alongside the Horizon Collection, Haier Malaysia also introduced its SpaceFit series of kitchen appliances, comprising a range hood, gas hob and steam combi oven designed to maximise kitchen space while offering greater convenience.
The company also launched its latest dishwasher, the HDWA18-686BK5MY, with an 18-place setting capacity designed for Asian dish usage.
Its AI Wash function detects the level of dirt and automatically selects the appropriate wash programme, while the 240 Hours Smart Storage function helps keep dishes dry and odour-free through automatic door opening and closing, fresh air circulation and UV sterilisation.
“With the Horizon Collection, we wanted to look beyond simply creating more space and bring together technologies that preserve freshness, adapt to different household needs and make everyday use more convenient,” said Seow.
Meanwhile, Malaysian shoppers could join the Haier Horizon tour at Sunway Pyramid from Sept 4 to 6, with Touch ‘n Go eWallet credit available to the first 50 visitors, alongside interactive activities including the four-station Horizon Challenge game, daily giveaways and live cooking demonstrations.
The new Haier Horizon Collection and Dishwasher Series are now available at Haier authorised dealers nationwide and more information can be found at https://www.haier.com/my/.
