MIHAS Records RM5.5 Bln In Sales By Fourth Day, Confident Of Hitting RM6 Bln -- MATRADE

KUALA LUMPUR, 26 Sept (Bernama) --  The Malaysia International Halal Showcase (MIHAS) 2026 recorded RM5.5 billion in sales as of the fourth day of the event, said Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) chairman Datuk Seri Reezal Merican Naina Merican.

However, he said the figure did not include the value of memorandums of understanding (MOUs) signed or transactions conducted separately through the use of agentic artificial intelligence ( Agentic AI).

“I am quite optimistic that we can achieve RM6 billion in sales for MIHAS 2026,” he told reporters after the MIHAS 2026 Awards Ceremony here today.

MATRADE had earlier targeted potential business deals exceeding RM5 billion, while seeking to expand access for Malaysian halal products in international markets.

The MIHAS Awards 2026, one of the key highlights of MIHAS 2026, concluded today at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC), recognising outstanding exhibitors shaping the future of the global halal industry through excellence, innovation, sustainability and digital transformation.

In a statement, it said a total of 13 awards were presented across three core flagship categories, namely the Excellence Awards; Innovation, Sustainability & Digitalisation Awards; and, for the first time, the Women in Export (WiEX) Awards.

Under the Product/Service Excellence Award, the recipients were NIMS Adeliciousz Sdn Bhd, Industri Makanan Jati Sdn Bhd, and RK Mubaraka Sdn Bhd, while Chocofac (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, and Haritage Brands Sdn Bhd received the Product/Service Excellence Emerging Star Award.

Zhafou Global Sdn Bhd won the Product/Service Excellence WiEX Award, while the Product/Service Innovation, Sustainability and Digitalisation Award was presented to HYGR Sdn Bhd, PrintDaddy Sdn Bhd, Betrimex (Coco Investments Pte. Ltd.), Mega Fortris Bhd, Nestle Products Sdn Bhd, and Abin Manufacturing Sdn Bhd.

Innovate Health Sdn Bhd received the Product/Service Innovation, Sustainability and Digitalisation WiEX Award.

On MIHAS Awards 2026, Reezal Merican said MATRADE plans to introduce several new award categories next year, particularly to encourage participation from overseas.

He said the recognition is expected to encourage exhibitors to return to MIHAS and attract new participants from other countries, given the event’s strong international branding.
