QFC, US Chamber Of Commerce Sign MoU To Boost US-Qatar Business Ties

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 28 (Bernama) -- The Qatar Financial Centre (QFC), an onshore financial and business centre, and the United States (US) Chamber of Commerce have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to strengthen commercial and investment engagement between Qatar and the US.

QFC in a statement said the partnership will also support US companies looking to establish or expand in Qatar and the wider region.

QFC Chief Executive Officer, Mansoor Al Khater said the partnership aims to translate the strong US-Qatar relationship into greater opportunities for businesses in both markets, while creating more channels for engagement and connecting US companies with opportunities in Qatar.

“With more than 350 US companies already part of the QFC platform, we have a strong foundation to build on. Our aim is to support US companies looking to expand in the region by providing the regulatory certainty, connectivity and business environment they need to grow with confidence,” he said.

Meanwhile, US Chamber of Commerce Senior Vice President of International Member Relations and Middle East, Central Asia & Türkiye, Khush Choksy said the organisation looks forward to working with QFC on joint programmes, business dialogues and initiatives to strengthen bilateral economic ties.

Choksy added that the partnership reflects a shared focus on expanding trade, investment and commercial engagement between Qatar and the US, while creating opportunities for businesses in both markets.

Through the partnership, both organisations will focus on areas of shared strategic interest, including wealth and asset management, fintech, digital assets and enterprise technology.

The MoU was signed during a roundtable co-hosted by QFC and the US Chamber of Commerce in New York, during a week of international engagement around the Qatar Economic Forum and the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) High-Level Week.

As the first activation of the MoU, the roundtable brought together senior US business leaders to exchange perspectives on regional growth, cross-border expansion and the evolving regulatory, economic and technological considerations shaping business decisions.
