Poh Kong FY2026 Net Profit Jumps 60 Pct To RM193.37 Mln

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 28 (Bernama) -- Poh Kong Holdings Bhd’s net profit rose 59.7 per cent to RM193.37 million for the financial year ended July 31, 2026 (FY2026), from RM121.10 million a year earlier.

Revenue increased to RM1.93 billion from RM1.69 billion, the jewellery retailer said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia today.

For the fourth quarter (4Q), net profit rose to RM36.20 million from RM22.68 million in the corresponding quarter last year, while revenue increased to RM378.36 million from RM365.50 million.

“The increase in revenue was due mainly to the surge in gold price during the quarter under review,” it said.

Poh Kong said revenue was largely derived from its retail segment.

On its prospects, the group said Malaysia’s economy remains well-positioned despite a more challenging global environment shaped by geopolitical tensions, softer external demand, inflation and currency fluctuations.

“We believe that strong central bank buying, consumer spending and safe-haven inflows amid global geopolitical uncertainties will continue to fuel demand for both jewellery and gold investment products,” it said.

The group said it would continue to monitor the impact of current uncertainties on its operations, honour its financial obligations and evaluate its performance on an ongoing basis.

“Barring unforeseen circumstances, the group is confident that it has put in place adequate measures to meet the challenges ahead for the financial year ending July 31, 2027,” it said.

Meanwhile, Poh Kong recommended a final single-tier dividend of 5.00 sen per ordinary share for FY2026, up from 3.00 sen per share for FY2025.

The proposed dividend, amounting to RM20.52 million, is subject to shareholders’ approval at the forthcoming annual general meeting, it said.
