SUNCUN Marks 10th Anniversary With London Expansion
KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 1 (Bernama) -- SUNCUN presented its SS2027 collection, "Wen Feng Ji Meng" ("WIND & DREAM"), at London Fashion Week, marking the brand’s 10th anniversary and completing founder Zhang Turan’s decade-long fashion journey across New York, Paris, London and Milan.
In a statement, SUNCUN said the 59-look presentation featured flowing silhouettes, layered construction, negative space and contrasts between the virtual and real, translating the collection’s concept of wind and dreams into a contemporary wardrobe.
“The beauty of Eastern clothing is not just the style — it is the Eastern philosophy itself,” said Zhang, whose latest collection explores how Eastern philosophy can be expressed through contemporary fashion without relying on literal landscapes or cultural symbols.
The London presentation also marked SUNCUN’s second global new-product launch in the city. The brand said it plans to open a physical store in London as it expands its lifestyle offering and develops a contemporary Eastern fashion system through deeper global craft collaborations.
The collection centres on the phrase "Use wind as traces, dream as messages", with wind representing movement across the world and dreams reflecting the fluidity of life.
The London show marks the latest stage in SUNCUN’s four-city fashion-week trajectory. The journey began in New York in February 2019, when IMG invited Zhang to New York Fashion Week to present "Wuwei Fusheng".
At 24, Zhang was widely reported as the youngest haute couture designer to present at the event, with overseas coverage describing his work as "a mysterious power from the East". Later that year, "Shanhai" at the Petit Palais extended the brand’s international presence to Paris.
SUNCUN subsequently presented its AW2024 "Kaitian" collection in London, Zhang’s first London release, before taking SS2025 "Bridge" to Milan Fashion Week seven months later. The Milan presentation was covered by Xinhua and reviewed by Italy’s national fashion chamber.
The latest London presentation extends SUNCUN’s intangible-heritage craftsmanship beyond one-off couture into a fashion language spanning couture and ready-to-wear, supporting the brand’s continued international expansion.
