13th PropertyGuru Asia Awards Malaysia Celebrates Property Excellence, Industry Leaders

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 2 (Bernama) -- The 13th PropertyGuru Asia Awards Malaysia with iProperty celebrated achievements in the country’s property sector and honoured prominent industry figures tonight, with developers and projects recognised across 62 award categories.

Presented by Lim Soh & Goonting Advocates & Solicitors, this year’s PropertyGuru Asia Awards Malaysia with iProperty carries the theme “Defined by Excellence”.

PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards managing director Jules Kay said the awards aim to inform, connect and showcase the best developments across Asia.

“These awards not only represent quality. They are also a benchmark and a standard that raises the bar for excellence and innovation in the region.

“This means that buyers, investors and renters remain confident in the quality of the products that have been released in each of these markets,” he said in his opening remarks at the awards ceremony here.

The awards covered a broad range of property types across different parts of the country, alongside special categories including the Consumer Demand Awards, People’s Choice Awards and Consistency Awards.

Among the individual recipients, Sunway Group founder and chairman Tan Sri Dr Jeffrey Cheah received the Life Achievement Award while Sime Darby Property Bhd group managing director and chief executive officer Datuk Seri Azmir Merican was named Real Estate Personality of the Year.

Paragon Globe Bhd executive chairman Datuk Seri Edwin Tan Pei Seng was honoured with the Rising Star award while Kuok Group property division (southern) chief executive officer Maggie Ng Mui Kit received the Woman Changemaker Award.

According to Kay, 13 independent industry experts were involved in the judging process.

“The credibility of these awards is based on the contributions of 13 independent experts who lend their time, expertise and support to ensure that the best projects and developers in Malaysia are recognised each year,” he said.

The top winners from Malaysia will represent the country at the PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards Grand Final in Bangkok in December, Kay said.

“They will be competing shoulder to shoulder with developers and properties from Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Australia, Hong Kong and across the region.

“And I hope, as happened last year, Malaysia will be among the biggest international winners in December,” he added.
