12MP Development Spending Hits RM397.85 Bln, Below RM415 Bln Ceiling -- Auditor-general

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 5 (Bernama) -- Development expenditure under the 12th Malaysia Plan (12MP) totalled RM397.85 billion as at Dec 31, 2025, remaining below the approved ceiling of RM415 billion, the Auditor-General’s Report (LKAN) 2/2026 said.

The report on the Federal Government’s 2025 Financial Statements said 9,578 development projects were recorded as at end-2025, based on final account data from the MyProjek system obtained from the Implementation Coordination Unit of the Prime Minister’s Department.

“Of the 9,578 projects, 7,548 were under RMK12, while the remaining 2,030 were continuation projects from previous Malaysia Plans, comprising 1,602 projects under the 11th Malaysia Plan (11MP), 358 under the 10th Malaysia Plan (10MP) and 70 under the ninth Malaysia Plan (9MP).

“Of the total 12MP development projects, 3,120 projects (32.6 per cent) were at the post-implementation stage, 2,208 (23 per cent) at the pre-implementation stage, 4,057 (42.4 per cent) under implementation, while 193 (2.0 per cent) were either kept in view (115 projects) or cancelled (78 projects),” it said.

The report said the 3,120 post-implementation projects were those that had been completed and put to use in line with their development objectives.

It said the completed projects comprised 1,750 social sector projects, 1,129 economic sector projects, 150 security sector projects and 91 administrative sector projects.
