AmBank Strengthens Affluent Banking, Wealth Management With Kelawei Flagship Branch
GEORGE TOWN, Oct 7 (Bernama) -- AmBank Group is strengthening its commitment to the affluent segment and wealth management by launching its Kelawei flagship branch, bringing together AmBank Signature Priority Banking (AmSPB) and AmPrivate Banking.
Located in a Heritage Class 2 Bungalow along Jalan Kelawei, George Town, the flagship branch combines Penang’s heritage architecture with a contemporary banking environment, offering customers a more personalised and private banking and wealth management experience.
AmBank Group’s Retail Banking managing director, Cheong Chee Wai, said that the financial needs of affluent customers are becoming increasingly sophisticated, driving greater demand for trusted advice and comprehensive wealth management solutions.

Meanwhile, AmBank Group managing director of Group Wealth Management, Goh Wee Peng, said integrating AmSPB and AmPrivate Banking at the flagship branch enabled the bank to offer dedicated relationship management, personalised banking and wealth solutions in one location.
He said the Kelawei branch also provided AmBank with an important platform to deepen relationships with existing clients while welcoming a new generation of affluent Malaysians to its priority and private banking services.
In conjunction with the launch, AmBank has also introduced a special AmSPB Kelawei campaign running from Aug 1 to Dec 31, 2026, offering various benefits and exclusive rewards to eligible customers.
Among the offers are a 24K Gold Leaf Luxury Body Care Series Gift Set for new AmSPB customers, while new-to-wealth customers who invest in unit trust, Syariah-compliant unit trust or structured products stand to receive one or two grammes of gold, as well as a chance to win 10 grammes of gold as special bonus prizes.
