MAG Strengthens MRO, Engineering Capabilities Through Seven Strategic Partnerships

By Anas Abu Hassan

SINGAPORE, Oct 9 (Bernama) -- Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG) is strengthening its maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO), as well as engineering and supply chain operations through seven strategic partnerships with global aviation, engineering, technology and logistics companies.

The group said these partnerships will enhance fleet reliability, strengthen operational resilience and create a stronger foundation for long-term MRO growth.

MAG president and group chief executive officer Captain Nasaruddin A Bakar said the partnerships bring together global expertise, technical capabilities and supply chain support with our own engineering strengths, enabling us to better support our airlines while also creating opportunities to grow our MRO business.

“Our focus is therefore not simply on strengthening standalone maintenance activities, but on establishing an integrated, resilient MRO and engineering platform for the group.

“Together, they strengthen the foundation for a more efficient, reliable and commercially capable engineering operation,” he said in a statement today.

The partnerships, announced during MRO Asia-Pacific 2026 in Singapore last month, include Thales, Airbus Flight Hour Services (FHS), Air France Industries KLM Engineering and Maintenance (AFI KLM E&M), The Boeing Company, and Collins Aerospace.

These collaborations enhance the availability of critical components and parts, support maintenance planning and improve the responsiveness of engineering operations, it said.

In addition, the collaboration with CEVA Logistics strengthens supply chain support for Malaysia Airlines’ engineering and operational needs, while the expanded partnership with Batik Air Malaysia reinforces MAB Engineering Services’ role as an MRO provider to external airline customers.
