Budget 2027 To Strengthen Malaysian Companies’ Capabilities, Market Reach -- Bursa CEO

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 9 (Bernama) -- The measures announced in Budget 2027 will enable Malaysian companies to build capabilities, expand their market reach and pursue larger opportunities, said Bursa Malaysia Bhd.

Chief executive officer Datuk Fad’l Mohamed said in a statement today that for the capital market, this helps strengthen the pipeline of companies that can eventually seek public-market financing.

He said investments to accelerate the growth of local semiconductor companies to higher value segments will deepen Malaysia’s industrial and technology capabilities.

“Funding for mid-tier companies across sectors such as electronic and electrical, aerospace, digital and medical devices will prepare more businesses to tap the capital market as they grow,” he said.

Likewise, he said that government-linked investment company investments aimed at supporting bumiputera companies facilitate capability development and business expansion, preparing more enterprises for eventual public listing.

“Financing guarantees for mergers and acquisitions enable firms to expand, strengthen their market positions and attract investor interest,” he said.

He added that the proposed matching grant for listing costs under the Malaysia-Hong Kong dual-listing pathway will support companies seeking to reach new pools of investors, while strengthening connectivity between both capital markets.
