23rd China-ASEAN Expo Attracts 3,432 Enterprises From 73 Countries

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 13 (Bernama) -- The five-day 23rd China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) concluded in Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, attracting 3,432 enterprises from 73 countries and regions to an exhibition spanning 170,000 square metres.

Held under the theme “Sharing Opportunities of Version 3.0, Creating a Better Life Together”, the expo focused on economic and trade cooperation, with artificial intelligence (AI) as a key highlight and enterprises driving the application of new technologies.

The event adopted a new layout comprising a main exhibition hall, special-topic exhibition zones and off-site exhibition zones. The main venue was at the Nanning International Convention and Exhibition Center, with two sub-venues at Nan-A Community and Guilin International Convention and Exhibition Center.

According to a statement, the three venues received more than 360,000 visits, a record high, while 53 economic and trade events and multiple high-level cross-sector conferences were held to facilitate business matching and regional cooperation.

Timor-Leste participated as a co-host for the first time, marking a new arrangement involving "13 parties from 12 countries". The expo also introduced an "ASEAN raises questions, China provides solutions" model, supported by the release of demand lists from ASEAN countries.

The AI exhibition zone expanded by 60 per cent from the previous edition, while the AI Marketplace recorded transactions exceeding 28 million Chinese yuan. The expo’s AI-enabled intelligent agent facilitated 8,000 pre-event business-matching pairs and 2,000 on-site pairs, supporting practical business engagement beyond product and technology showcases. (100 Chinese yuan = RM61.03)

The China-ASEAN Data Cooperation Professional Committee was also inaugurated under the World Data Organization.

Other initiatives included expanded AI-finance cooperation, multi-sector partnerships through the “Nanning Channel” and the establishment of an Industrial Park Alliance along the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor.

The 24th China-ASEAN Expo will be held from Sept 17 to 21, 2027, with Singapore as the Country of Theme and Nanjing as China’s City of Charm.
