KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 15 (Bernama) -- Crude palm oil (CPO) futures on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives closed mostly lower on Thursday, weighed down by weaker soybean oil on the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT).
Iceberg X Sdn Bhd proprietary trader David Ng said softer crude oil prices also dampened the sentiment for the golden crop.
“We see support around RM4,600 per tonne with resistance at RM4,750 per tonne,” he told Bernama.
At the close, the October 2026 contract was unchanged at RM4,427 per tonne, the November 2026 contract edged down RM84 to RM4,476 per tonne, and the December 2026 contract decreased RM81 to RM4,619 per tonne.
Meanwhile, the January 2027 and February 2025 contracts slid RM85 each to RM4,725 per tonne and RM4,815 per tonne, respectively, and March 2027 tumbled RM79 to RM4,899 per tonne.
Trading volume surged to 133,700 lots from 124,058 on Wednesday, while open interest slipped to 333,964 contracts from 335,045 previously.
The physical CPO price for October South fell RM60 to RM4,440 per tonne.
