AiSEM@Selangor 2026 Records RM430 Mln In Potential GMV

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 23 (Bernama) -- The Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Semiconductor Summit (AiSEM@Selangor) 2026 recorded an estimated RM430 million in potential gross merchandise value (GMV) and 23,333 visits over its four-day run before concluding on Oct 17, 2026.

Organised by the Selangor Information Technology & Digital Economy Corporation  (Sidec), AiSEM@Selangor 2026 brought Malaysia’s chip designers, AI and robotics innovators, startups and job seekers under one roof.

The summit, held as part of the Selangor International Business Summit (SIBS) 2026, was also organised by the Malaysia Semiconductor IC Design Park and the Advanced Semiconductor Academy of Malaysia (ASEM), and took place at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre and Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur.

In a statement, Sidec said the event also featured a two-day AI and Semiconductor Conference  comprising the Semiconductor Conference on Oct 15 and the AI Innovation Conference on Oct 16, which brought together 40 local and international speakers.

“The opening ceremony also featured the official launch of AiSEM, a robotics showcase and the exchange of 12 collaborations, including memoranda of understanding (MoUs) and memoranda of collaboration (MoCs), covering talent development, chip fabrication, robotics and AI computing, worth an estimated RM65 million in potential value.

“More than 20 robots and autonomous machines were on show on the exhibition floor at KLCC,” it said.

The event also featured the Malaysia Semiconductor Recruitment Day (MSRD) 2026, organised with ASEM, which drew over 8,000 job seekers, with more than 60 semiconductor employers offering over 1,500 job opportunities, more than double last year’s figure of just over 600.

“The summit closed on Oct 17 with the ChampionCHIP eXperience – Malaysia Edition Demo Day, a Malaysia–Brazil IC design talent programme run by ASEM,” it added.

Meanwhile, Sidec chief executive officer Yong Kai Ping said AiSEM serves as a platform for technology players in Selangor to connect, collaborate and explore business opportunities.

“AiSEM is where every part of Selangor’s tech story meets: chip designers, startups, AI companies and the talent they all need.

“This year, all four came together under one roof, and the results speak for themselves. Our job now is to turn the connections made here into contracts, products and jobs,” he added.
