SmartKargo Launches Four AI Apps For Airline Cargo Operations

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 27 (Bernama) -- Cloud-based logistics platform SmartKargo has launched four artificial intelligence (AI) applications for airlines, designed to help increase revenue, cut costs and reduce risk in their cargo operations.

The apps are delivered through application programming interfaces (APIs) and run on top of an airline’s existing cargo management system, whether commercial or built in-house, so no system migration is required. The company said the apps are modular and can go live within weeks.

“At SmartKargo, we start with something far more useful than hype: a business question. These apps are not a research project or a roadmap slide,” said SmartKargo Chief Revenue Officer, Olivier Houri adding that they were built to plug into whatever cargo system an airline already runs and grow with.

In a statement, the company said it tests every capability against those goals before building or deploying it.

The AIRCAM app forecasts capacity, predicts demand and recommends dynamic spot rates in real time, helping cargo teams optimise pricing and capacity on each flight and route. The AINOC app gives operations teams a single, predictive view of their network to spot problems before they cause delays.

The AIULD app tracks and forecasts the location, condition and availability of unit load devices (ULDs), while the AICTX app connects cargo systems and partners through a single, standards-based messaging layer.

The apps are available now to airlines using any major cargo management system, and carriers can adopt one app or the full set.

SmartKargo said it would continue to expand the range, adding new applications and deepening existing ones based on the problems airlines raise.
