Ras Al Khaimah Signs Fujian Pact, 10 MoUs In China

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 29 (Bernama) -- Ras Al Khaimah (RAK) and China’s Fujian Province have signed a friendship agreement to strengthen economic, maritime and cultural ties, concluding a six-day visit to China by the emirate’s Ruler, Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi.

The agreement, signed in Fuzhou in the presence of Sheikh Saud, who is also a member of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Supreme Council, sets a framework for cooperation in green supply chains, port logistics, sustainable building materials and cultural exchange.

“Signing this friendship agreement with Fujian Province cements a partnership rooted in mutual respect, shared ambition and centuries of maritime connection, which creates a formal foundation for our communities and enterprises to collaborate more closely,” said Sheikh Saud.

In a statement, he said the emirate’s friendship with China was rooted in history and renewed by a shared vision for modern economic transformation.

The agreement followed the signing of 10 memoranda of understanding (MoUs) between RAK entities and Chinese counterparts. They included a deal between the RAK Government’s International Relations Office and UBTECH Robotics to test, demonstrate and deploy humanoid robots in industry, commercial services, elderly care and cultural tourism.

Other MoUs were signed between the RAK Transport Authority and the Shenzhen Urban Transport Planning Center, and between the International Relations Office and Phoenix New Media Information Technology. Marjan Group and RAKBANK each signed agreements with the Bank of China’s Dubai branch, and Marjan Group also signed one with China Road and Bridge Corporation.
