Sunway Construction's Unit Clinches RM920.8 Mln Variation Works Contract In Johor
KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 4 (Bernama) -- Sunway Construction Group Bhd’s wholly owned unit Sunway Construction Sdn Bhd has received a letter of award for variation (LOAV) works from a United States (US)-headquartered multinational technology corporation worth approximately RM920.8 million.
In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, the construction group said the variation works involve additional mechanical, electrical, and plumbing fit-out works for the ongoing development of a data centre in Johor.
“The LOAV also serves as the instruction to commence the variation works, which are targeted to be completed by the first quarter in 2028 (1Q 2028),” it said.
Sunway Construction Group said the variation works contract will not affect the group's share capital or substantial shareholders’ shareholdings, as no new shares will be allotted or issued under the variation works.
“The variation works are not expected to have any immediate material effect on the earnings per share, net assets per share and gearing of the group for the financial year ending Dec 31, 2026.
“However, barring any unforeseen circumstances, the variation works are expected to contribute positively to the earnings of the group for the financial year ending Dec 31, 2026, onwards,” it added.
