KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 5 (Bernama) -- Crude palm oil (CPO) futures on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives ended lower today due to weaker soybean oil futures on the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT).
Iceberg X Sdn Bhd proprietary trader David Ng said concerns over record-high Malaysian inventories also continued to weigh on market sentiment, limiting buying interest.
“We see immediate support around RM4,450 per tonne and resistance at RM4,600 per tonne, with traders remaining cautious ahead of the upcoming Malaysian Palm Oil Board’s October palm oil supply and demand report on Nov 10,” he told Bernama.
At the close, the November 2026 contract declined RM174 to RM4,126 per tonne, the December 2026 contract went down RM128 to RM4,279 per tonne, the January 2027 contract fell RM119 to RM4,377 per tonne, the February 2027 contract slipped RM114 to RM4,462, the March 2027 contract dropped RM111 to RM4,533 per tonne, and the April 2027 contract weakened RM109 to RM4,587 per tonne.
Trading volume narrowed to 97,181 lots from 137,168 lots on Wednesday, while open interest rose to 336,631 contracts from 334,908 contracts previously.
The physical CPO price for November South shed RM90 to RM4,220 per tonne.
