KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 7 (Bernama) -- The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures contract is expected to trade steadily higher next week in tandem with the underlying cash market, where the benchmark index is seen moving within a range of 1,600 to 1,630 points.
Rakuten Trade Sdn Bhd vice-president of equity research Thong Pak Leng said selective accumulation is likely to support the cash market at lower levels, although intermittent volatility could not be ruled out.
In the week just ended, FBM KLCI futures traded mostly lower in line with the underlying cash market.
On a Friday-to-Friday basis, the November 2026 contract fell 3.0 points to 1614.5, the December 2026 contract lost 3.5 points to 1,616.5 and the March 2027 contract dropped 6.0 points to 1,599.0, while the new-month June 2027 contract stood at 1,599.0.
Weekly turnover narrowed to 39,792 lots on Friday from 184,720 lots last week, while open interest was reduced to 45,731 contracts from 51,161 contracts a week earlier.
On a Friday-to-Friday basis, the FBM KLCI inched up 0.98 of a point to 1,616.58 from 1,615.60 a week ago.
