Gold Futures Close Lower

KUALA LUMPUR, July 14 (Bernama) -- Gold futures on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives closed lower on Tuesday as investors locked in profits after recent gains, despite the strong performance of gold prices on the US Commodity Exchange (COMEX).

At the close, the spot-month July 2026 contract fell to US$4,020.10 per troy ounce from US$4,078.60 on Monday, while the August 2026 contract declined to US$4,040.70 from US$4,099.20 and the September 2026 contract eased to US$4,053.70 from US$4,112.20.

The October 2026 and December 2026 contracts both fell to US$4,084.20 per troy ounce from US$4,142.70 previously.

Trading volume increased to 87 lots from 59 lots on Monday, while open interest rose to 169 contracts from 105.

Physical gold was fixed at US$4,039.75 per troy ounce at the London Bullion Market Association's afternoon fix on July 13, 2026.
