Yayasan Hijrah Selangor Shortens Microfinancing Approval With DANA PLUS App

KLANG, July 21 (Bernama) -- Yayasan Hijrah Selangor (Hijrah Selangor) has shortened the approval period for microfinancing of up to RM10,000 to 48 hours from the previous 14 to 21 days.

Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari said the DANA PLUS digital application marks an important step in accelerating the digitalisation of public services while strengthening access to financing for entrepreneurs through a faster, more efficient, and more secure system.

"Through DANA PLUS, the entire Hijrah Selangor microfinancing application process is carried out 100 per cent digitally, starting from the application, electronic identity verification (e-KYC), screening and financing approval, digital agreement signing (e-signature), right through to repayment via auto debit,” he said in a Facebook post after launching the application here today.

"Applications can be submitted 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, anytime and anywhere, without the need to visit a branch,” he said, with the fastest approval being four hours.

Amirudin said DANA PLUS will also be the main platform for distributing RM32 million in microfinancing allocations announced under the Selangor Budget 2026 and the Selangor Resilience Strengthening Package Phase 2.

Since the pilot phase began in January 2025, DANA PLUS has received 4,436 applications, of which 3,237 were approved, with financing exceeding RM70 million.

"For financing of up to RM10,000, the approval rate has reached 82.9 per cent, demonstrating the effectiveness of a digital approach that is more efficient, faster, and user-friendly," he said.

From 2015 until June this year, Hijrah Selangor has disbursed 94,500 financing facilities to more than 62,400 entrepreneurs, with a total value of RM921 million.

Amirudin said Hijrah Selangor's microfinancing programme has helped more than 64,000 entrepreneurs avoid falling into the hands of illegal moneylenders, or "ah long," since it was introduced in 2015.

"Imagine if those more than 60,000 borrowers did not have access to microfinancing. Bank financing also carries relatively high interest charges. Therefore, Hijrah Selangor's financing has become their preferred option, preventing them from turning to loan sharks, commonly referred to as 'ah long’,” he said.

The availability of this financing facility has saved small traders from the risk of being trapped by high-interest loans, he said.
