CGC Digital, Credit Bureau Malaysia Sign MoU To Help MSMEs Improve Their Credit Standing
KUALA LUMPUR, July 23 (Bernama) -- CGC Digital and Credit Bureau Malaysia (CBM) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to help more Malaysian micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) better understand their credit standing and improve their position to access financing.
The fintech subsidiary of Credit Guarantee Corporation Malaysia Bhd said in a statement today that the partnership combines its digital platforms and extensive MSME network with CBM's expertise in credit information and risk analytics.
"CGC Digital and CBM will explore developing credit risk models and analytical solutions that deepen understanding of MSME needs and strengthen decision-making across the financing ecosystem.
"The collaboration will also explore joint education and outreach initiatives. It will use both organisations' networks to reach a wider group of business owners and raise awareness of the financing and credit information support available to them," the statement said.
CGC Digital chief executive officer Yushida Husin said MSMEs face challenges accessing financing, understanding their own credit standing and identifying the most suitable financing support.
“By pairing CBM's credit insights with the reach of our digital platforms, we can help more business owners see clearly where they stand and take practical steps," she said.
Meanwhile, CBM chief executive officer Soo Chin Kang said the collaboration reflected both organisations' shared ambition to strengthen entrepreneurship, unlock greater economic value and contribute to a more inclusive and resilient Malaysian economy.
CGC Digital said the partnership marked another step in strengthening its digital financing ecosystem through strategic collaboration. It also reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the unserved and underserved MSME segment by improving access to financing to help Malaysian businesses make informed decisions.
