Gold Futures End Lower Ahead Of FOMC Minutes Next Week

KUALA LUMPUR, July 24 (Bernama) -- Gold futures on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives closed lower today as investors awaited the release of the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meeting minutes next week. 

At the close, the spot-month July 2026 contract fell to US$4,054.50 per troy ounce from US$4,091.50 per troy ounce on Thursday, the August 2026 contract eased to US$4,074.20 per troy ounce from US$4,111.80 per troy ounce, and September 2026 went down to US$4,087.00 per troy ounce from US$4,125.20 per troy ounce.

The October 2026 and December 2026 contracts both dropped to US$4,117.50 per troy ounce from US$4,155.70 per troy ounce previously.

Trading volume declined to 134 lots from 156 lots yesterday, while open interest slid to 210 contracts from 225 contracts.

Physical gold was fixed at US$4,044.90 per troy ounce at the London Bullion Market Association’s afternoon fix on July 23, 2026.
