RM46 Mln Microfinancing In Kelantan Approved By Agrobank Since 2025

KOTA BHARU, Aug 1 (Bernama) -- Agrobank has approved 765 microfinancing applications worth RM46 million in Kelantan from 2025 to July this year, enhancing financial inclusion and assisting more micro-entrepreneurs to expand their businesses.

Agrobank Group president and chief executive officer Datuk Tengku Ahmad Badli Shah Raja Hussin said the bank will continue to expand its ground approach in collaboration with local authorities (PBT) and related agencies.

“We will continue to strengthen support for micro-entrepreneurs in Kelantan through on-the-ground engagement by expanding access to banking services, financing, and digital payments through the Bachok 2026 Entrepreneurs Carnival programme.

“The on-the-ground approach allows Agrobank to bring financial services closer to micro-entrepreneurs and to understand their real needs better,” he told reporters after the bank’s ‘Mikro Kredit Turun Padang’ programme at Pasar Bandar Baru Jelawat, Bachok, here today.

Tengku Ahmad Badli Shah said the approach not only opens up access to financing but also helps entrepreneurs build a stronger business foundation through banking services, digital payments, and appropriate advisory services.

“This strategic collaboration aims to create a more orderly and conducive business environment for traders who previously operated in the old market area and roadside locations,” he added.

Tengku Ahmad Badli Shah noted that the response to the microfinancing scheme in Kelantan continues to show positive growth, with more than 4,000 micro-entrepreneurs and small traders receiving financing totalling RM147 million from Agrobank.
