Two Companies From Melaka Preparing For Bursa Malaysia Listing - Ab Rauf

MELAKA, Aug 8 (Bernama) – Two state government-linked companies in Melaka are preparing to be listed on Bursa Malaysia, said Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh.

He said Melaka ICT Holdings Sdn Bhd is undergoing an assessment of its readiness and organisational restructuring in preparation for an initial public offering (IPO), targeted as early as the first quarter of 2028 (1Q 2028).

He said Syarikat Air Melaka Bhd is also undergoing a restructuring process and due diligence with a target to list as early as 1Q 2029.

“We want more companies to step onto the bigger stage, penetrate broader markets, and prove that companies from Melaka are capable of standing shoulder to shoulder with the best players at the national level,” he said when speaking at the “RHB-Bursa Malaysia Retail Corporation Day” opening ceremony.

"We don't just want to help a business to get started, but we want to bring companies that already have a strong foundation to scale up and step up to a higher level," he said.

Ab Rauf said that under the Melaka Sayang Rakyat concept, the state government will continue to facilitate local companies in connecting with strategic partners and accessing financing and investment opportunities for greater growth.

"That is why RHB and Bursa Malaysia’s presence today is important because to go further, companies need opportunities and access to financing, markets, networks and the right guidance.

"Thus far, I was informed that RHB has channelled RM485 million in financing to small and medium enterprises in Melaka to support the operations and business development," he said.

He said the state government is, therefore, constantly working to attract major companies to Melaka. Every investment brought into the state generates broader economic benefits, creates opportunities for local vendors and companies, and provides more quality job opportunities for the people.

Earlier, he said more than 350 participants comprising investors, company representatives, market practitioners and business leaders attended the event, making it the best platform for the group to obtain the latest information on financing opportunities and market potential to expand their businesses.

The group managing director/group chief executive officer of RHB Banking Group, Datuk Mohd Rashid Mohamad, also attended the event.
