KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 26 (Bernama) -- IJM Corporation Bhd has announced the redesignation of its non-executive director Datuk Lee Teck Yuen as its new non-executive chairman, effective Aug 27, 2026.

In a Bursa Malaysia filing, the construction and infrastructure giant said Lee joined the board on May 30, 2007 as a non-executive director.

“He was re-designated as senior independent non-executive director on Nov 9, 2012 and as non-executive director on June 1, 2022. He has more than 40 years of experience in both the local and international property business,” it said.

Lee, who is succeeding Tan Sri Krishnan Tan, holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Civil Engineering and Business Administration from the University of Leeds, United Kingdom.

On July 29, Tan announced that he would step down after more than four decades with the group, as he would not seek re-election at the company's annual general meeting (AGM) on Aug 27.

“I leave knowing the group is well positioned for its next chapter of growth, and I wish IJM every continued success in the decades ahead,” he said in the group's Integrated Annual Report 2026.
