Malaysia Airlines Gradually Resumes Jakarta Services, Five Flights Remain Cancelled

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 8 (Bernama) -- Malaysia Airlines is gradually resuming services to and from Jakarta, following the restart of operations at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (CGK).

The national carrier said in a post on X that airport operations are recovering from the disruption caused by volcanic ash from Mount Anak Krakatau, Indonesia.

It said flights MH717 from Kuala Lumpur to Jakarta, MH716 from Jakarta to Kuala Lumpur, as well as Kuala Lumpur-Jakarta services MH721 and MH723, are operating as scheduled today.

However, five flights remain cancelled, namely MH713 and MH711 from Kuala Lumpur to Jakarta, as well as MH712, MH710 and MH726 from Jakarta to Kuala Lumpur, it added.

“Given the evolving situation, Malaysia Airlines is closely monitoring developments.

“Further updates on affected flights will be communicated directly to affected customers,” it said.

Passengers are advised to ensure that their contact details are up to date via the “My Booking” section on the Malaysia Airlines website to receive timely updates through email and short message service (SMS).
