SINGAPORE, Oct 6 (Bernama) -- Malaysian coffee chain OldTown White Coffee has not ruled out a return to Singapore following the announcement of the permanent closure of its Kallang Wave outlet here.
JDE OldTown F&B Group head of international business Madeline Tay said the closure of the last outlet in Singapore was due to the landlord's decision not to renew its lease despite efforts to negotiate.
“We were not able to reach a mutual agreement for extension. Hence the last day of business operations will be Oct 11, 2026.
“OldTown will continue to evaluate opportunities as part of its long-term business strategy and does not rule out the possibility of returning to Singapore in the future when opportunities arise,” she told Bernama when contacted on Tuesday.
On Oct 2, OldTown Singapore official Facebook page posted an announcement of the closure of its Kallang Wave outlet after more than 12 years in operation.
“Thank you for being part of our journey and for making OldTown Kallang Wave a special part of ours. While this chapter comes to an end, we hope our paths will cross again at one of our OldTown outlets across the region.
“Until then, thank you for the memories, the support, and the many cups of OldTown White Coffee shared,” the announcement read.
