PUNB Welcomes Funding Increase To RM500 Mln Under Budget 2027

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 10 (Bernama) -- Perbadanan Usahawan Nasional Bhd (PUNB) welcomes the increase in its financing fund to RM500 million under Budget 2027, up from RM350 million, to support Bumiputera entrepreneurs.

In a statement, PUNB chief executive officer Izwan Zainuddin said the increase reflects the government’s confidence in its role in empowering Bumiputera entrepreneurs.

“We guarantee that this trust will be carried out with full integrity, based on good and transparent governance, so that every ringgit reaches deserving entrepreneurs,” he said.

Izwan said PUNB is committed to ensuring Bumiputera entrepreneurs receive the necessary support to evolve from suppliers into industry leaders driving global-level innovation and automation.

The funding increase follows the government’s commitment expressed at the SParK 2026 Launch Ceremony, when Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim stated the government’s readiness to consider increasing financing based on performance and effectiveness of PUNB’s mandate implementation.

PUNB added that Budget 2027’s focus on the Bumiputera Economic Transformation Plan 2035 (PuTERA 35), along with the development of the semiconductor industry, artificial intelligence, new energy, and high-value industries, aligns with efforts to help Bumiputera entrepreneurs explore high-value markets.
